Childcare
The occasional child care service operated by the Lorne Community House has been providing quality child care services for local families for many years. Our child care suits toddler to pre-schoolers.
We provide a safe, friendly and stimulating environment in which young children can learn, play, and explore. We aim to promote and support each child’s needs and abilities through age appropriate developmental programs.
Our child care service operates Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in school term time from 9am to 2pm. Sessions cost $47.50 although families are able to access the Child Care Benefit to reduce these costs.
For more information or bookings, please contact us or pop in to see the great space we have for child care.

Garden
Daisy and Olive garden
The Daisy and Olive Garden situated between the Lorne Community House and Lorne Community Connect (the old Seniors Citizen building) is a productive edible garden tendered by the community and overseen by the Community House. The name commemorates two sisters, Daisy Bell and Olive Cooper, who first planted a garden on the site.
Each week on a Tuesday morning from 11am we welcome people into the Daisy and Olive Garden. With a bit of planting or a bit of weeding those with green thumbs and those without can share garden knowledge. It’s here that gardeners can learn from each other’s successes, failures and see methods in action such as our worm farms, small space gardening and composting.
Volunteers to tend the garden, help out with our compost program are always welcome –
Download the Volunteer FormDid you know you may be able to attend your medical appointments by video, otherwise known as a telehealth appointment?
Telehealth enables you to have an appointment with your clinician by video from your home or our Community Telehealth Hub on Mondays or Fridays
Telehealth can save you precious time, travel and associated costs, reduce illness exposure and help our environment.
There are many kinds of appointments which are suitable for telehealth. If your specialist clinician needs to perform a physical examination or request tests, you will need to attend in person. Speak to your clinician about whether telehealth is appropriate for your specific circumstances.
